Scogen disc diffuser - innovative hexagonal pattern - Video

10 Aug, 2020

The Scogen Disc Diffuser Diaphragm Membrane can be of PTFE+EPDM or Silicone or Viton® rubber compounded to meet SCOGEN® specifications. The Diffuser Diaphragm Membrane shall contain large quantity of orifices spaced to release air from the top of the diffuser assembly and to initiate immediate fluid interaction with maximum bubble formation and dispersion. The Diffuser

Diaphragm Membrane shall be designed to cover the Diffuser Base completely.

The large quantity of orifices shall be like an “I slit”, which expands when air is released and contracts/closes with no airflow. This “I slit” design shall act as an NRV, preventing back-flow of the sewage / sludge into the air pipelines.

The orifices shal l have a hexagonal pattern (Pizza slice design) with the perforations curving away from the centre, thus preventing tearing of the membrane.

Many companies pride themselves in providing concentric orifices, maximising on the number of orifices.

SCOGEN R&D team has successfully engineered a “hexagonal-pizza slice” orifice pattern that has the following advantages:

  • Meandering effect of the bubbles while it rises causing more contact time between air and
    water for better efficiency.
  • The membranes shall never tear as the orifices curves away from the centre against the
directional tear that naturally occurs in the membrane
  • Lower pressure drop
  • Maximising on the number of orifices
